GREETINGS

Dear Colleagues :

It is with great pleasure that we extend our invitation to you to attend the 8th World Congress of Accounting Educators which will be held jointly by the International Association for Accounting Education and Research and the Association Française de Comptabilité. The convention will take place immediately before the XVth World Congress of the International Federation of Accountants, October 26-29, in PARIS. Previous conventions met in the United States (1962), the United Kingdom (1967), Australia (1972), West Germany (1977), Mexico (1982), Japan (1987), Washington DC (1992). Paris is most attractive in October and still offers some of the best entertainment in the world.

The theme of the congress is "The Changing World of Accounting: Global and Regional Issues". Given the rapid social, political, technological and economic changes occurring in all parts of the world, it is important that accounting educators come together to share their views on how accounting education in their country and/or part of the world is or should be responding to change.

We look forward to seeing you in Paris in October, 1997.
